Former Sec. of Agriculture Mike Johanns ran an op-ed piece in today’s Des Moines Register entitled “Be honest with U.S. farmers about cap and trade”.  Here is the link:

While Johanns is technically on the side of reason, he comes off as such a simpering, cowering milquetoast lapdog that it is enough to make a person retch.  Guys, we are at WAR.  This nation is under full-scale domestic attack by Marxists the likes of which have not been seen in daylight since the heady days of Stalin and Hitler.  Johanns, in his op-ed piece, is so concerned about coming off as a “centrist” and “politically correct” that the article is positively dripping with the pabulum of his submission.  I think that Mr. Johanns needs to stop worrying so much about positioning himself for a possible appointment in the next Republican administration, and start worrying more about whether or not this Constitutional Republic will survive to see a “next administration” at all.

Mike Johanns.  Listen up.  THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS MAN-MADE GLOBAL CLIMATE CHANGE.  This is a fable concocted by grant-chasing academics in the 1980s, and co-opted by Al Gore as a marketing ploy to further his socialist political ambitions, line his own pockets, and peripherally, to punish the people of the United States for his loss in the 2000 presidential election.  GET YOUR HEAD AROUND THIS.  BE A MAN.  Al Gore’s net worth on the morning of George W. Bush’s inauguration in 2001 was just over $2 million dollars.  If Cap-and-Trade is signed into law, Al Gore will go to bed that night a BILLIONAIRE and his newfound wealth will be OUR wealth, looted and redistributed to himself and his Marxist cronies.  USE YOUR BRAIN.  THIS ISN'T HARD.

In regards to your quote above, it is utterly nonsensical because THERE IS NOTHING TO ACCOMPLISH.  There is NOTHING WRONG with the global climate.  We have no ability whatsoever to influence the global climate.  The Emperor HAS NO CLOTHES.  Why aren’t you man enough to say this?  Why do you offer these eco-thugs quarter by acquiescing to their lies?

Don’t you DARE speak for us, sir.  We're not reducing ANYTHING, because we have done nothing wrong.  Our “emissions” FEED YOU.  Our emissions put FOUR square meals per day in front of 300 million-plus human beings.  Our emissions enable the other 98% of the U.S. population to engage in full-time productive activities OTHER than growing food.  We FED the guys who built your house.  We FED the guys who laid the asphalt you drove to work on this morning.  We FED the guy who built your laptop.  Heck, we FED the guy who INVENTED your laptop.  We FED your doctor.  Do you remember when you were in law school at Creighton?  Yeah, WE FED YOU so that you had the time to study and pass the bar.  Don’t you DARE tell us that we are “on board” to reduce our emissions of a trace atmospheric gas, which any 4^th grader knows is a NUTRIENT to life on this planet.  If you don’t like our “emissions”, why don’t you just go grow your OWN food.  I think you will quickly find that you no longer have time to write op-eds for the Des Moines Register or chase cabinet posts.

Uh, no, we won’t.  We, unlike you, have reviewed actual scientific analysis, and we know that “man-made global climate change” is the biggest fraud ever perpetrated in human history.  We will never, ever, bow to a lie.  A is A, Mike.  Read your Rand.  A will never be B, and to deny that A is A is to make yourself a slave.  You might be willing to do that in the hopes of ascending to the Vice Presidency or a high-level cabinet position, but that’s your problem.  Don’t force your personal character deficiencies upon us.  We’re awfully busy out here trying to FEED YOU.

Let me get this straight.  You are imploring politicians to be honest?  You’ve got to be kidding me.  This last line proves that you are either completely delusional or completely obtuse.  Either way, you are in no way qualified to fight on the front lines of this war.

If there are any real men left out there, will you PLEASE stand up before it is too late?  Good grief, we are trying to fight and win a war by sending the equivalent of the Methodist Ladies Auxillary Knitting and Coffee Clatch into Guadalcanal when we need to be sending in the Marines.  Surely, SURELY, we have a division or two of Marines left in this country.  Don't we?
