Fairy Tales - Terry Fales
Posted in Judy Mauch's Blog at 09:12AM on 12/31/2009

Our company has been fortunate for 36 years to have Terry Fales working for us.  Our friend has been an asset to the sales team and I have enjoyed working with him.  The young man has been fighting cancer for a long time.

Terry is the kind of guy that when he went in for chemo or a surgery he would just "going in for a tummy tuck!"  Fairy Tales always had a story to tell - maybe a joke or a story that was close enough to being possible that you would wonder.   For example, the first day I met Terry I was working for another company, and I asked how he was.  (This was my first visit with someone working at KRVN - I was kinda excited).  He said he was doing better - just got out of jail and his divorce was final, got his job back and who knows what else.  He was a character!

Many people know him through rodeo events - I was told yesterday at one time he helped every rodeo in the state.

A dear friend and someone that I will miss for last night around 10:30pm, he passed away.  Here's my hug for you Terry!

Oh my and the people that he will see in heaven will now be hearing some fun crazy stories.

This is the newstory that the announcers put together...

Longtime KRVN Radio sales representive Terry Fales of Broken Bow passed away Wednesday evening following a lengthy battle with cancer. He was 59. KRVN General Manager Eric Brown says it seemed like "everyone in the Sandhills knew him" where he traveled many miles covering his sales territory, announcing rodeos and being a disc jockey for dances. Terry joined KBRB Radio/Ainsworth in 1973 doing on air work, sales and sporting events. He began his 35 year career with KRVN/Lexington in 1974. Terry will be sorely missed, says KRVN Sales Manager Denny Waddle, "he worked hard for his customers and was dedicated to KRVN. We could always count on him to keep us entertained with stories and jokes". Services are pending.
