The other day in the KRVN office, everyone asked about Christmas and snow. Over the next day or two, we'll be making a determineation just how bad it could get.
The current forecast models are all looking toward a significant snow storm that could effect us starting sometime late Tuesday or early Wednesday. Accumulating snow and winds could be the greatest concerns, very similiar to the concerns we had last week. What this means is the difficult travel we experienced last week causing major problems for those planning any kind of travel during the holidays.
For now, the snowfall amounts are vague, but I will put it out there that we could be looking at hazardous conditions for anyone traveling on Wednesday and Thursday, especially in wide open areas (which is most of Nebraska).
While you make plans to travel this week, please make sure you look back through our blog here and read about the importance of creating a kit for your car in case you are stranded or find yourself off the road. Let's take no chances this Christmas.
