1951 Ferguson TO-20
Posted in Tractor of the Week at 09:02PM on 08/29/2010

Nebraska Cowman (Howard Raymond) is back this week with another machine.  This 1951 Ferguson belonged to his father.  I will let him tell you the full story.

The TO in the designation stands for "Tractor Overseas" as Harry Ferguson's main production was in England and the American version was built in Detroit, MI. This particular Ferguson belonged to my late father and he gave it to me about 10 years ago as he no longer needed it. I have used it raking hay and plowing and for getting out cedar logs. It is a very handy tractor. This spring I fixed up a 2 row dempster lister planter and used it to plant sweet corn and several acres of open-pollinated field corn. The tractor and planter were displayed at the Platte Valley Antique show at Ayr in July as they were featuring Massey and Ferguson this year. The 14, 15, & 16th of September this tractor will be at Husker Harvest Days in Grand Island in the Antique Power Display and we will also be plowing and working some ground to demonstrate the old ways and to add interest to our display. Anyone with vintage tractors and or tillage tools is encouraged to participate. Contact Howard Raymond at 308-367-4687 or email howster@nebnet.net
I am happy to see Steiner Tractor sponsoring the Tractor of the week blog and want to let people know that if they are in the Curtis area that I am the local dealer for Steiner Tractor Parts and put in a stock order every week.

Thanks Howard! Nice to know you are the local dealer. Steiner has good quality parts and we are very happy to have them sponsoring us. Thanks to all of you who read our blog each week. Please send us your tractor to the address above.  Just include a brief description and photos. - Joe
