After reading your blog posts at KRVN.com, what percent of the readers do you suppose have determined that you are nuts? I would imagine you have frightened the remainder to where they won't read on in case they might find out they have been doing it (cattle marketing) all wrong. Maybe they will continue to read purely out of morbid curiosity, kind of like having to slow down and look when you pass a car wreck.

BUY 307# top-quality steers @ $137.67
Return on the gain = $1.15 per pound
Profit per head with a $0.90 cost of gain = $66.75 

Like 'em a little heavier?  No problem.  I LOVE the bawling calves.  Give me a bawling calf any day of the week.  Check this out:

SELL 719# top-quality steers @ 102.65 = $738.05
BUY 700# top-quality steers (calves) @ $95.00 = $665.00
$738.05 minus $665.00 = $73.05 per head to the good.  And you have basically the same animal in inventory, and you know the animal you purchased just came off its mother and hasn't been through every salebarn between Blacksburg, Virginia and El Reno, OK over the past month.  Cut that $73.05 in half to cover trucking, commission, receiving and anything else you want to throw in there and you're still $36.52 per head to the good.  Yes, indeed.  It's a beautiful thing.
