We have a lot on our minds don't we? After all, it's tax season, the next snow is gonna fly in a day or two and everytime the snow melts a little, all of our unfinished yard work from the fall is uncovered and reminds us that we are actually about 5 mnths behind already.
I do not need another project anymore than the rest of you, but let's look at our priorities for a second.
In the last several weeks, I have been watching the earthquake reports around North America going off the charts. I have watched blizzard after blizzard (not snowstorm after snowstorm) ravage this country, I have watched countless tornadoes sweep across the states in mid-winter, and just last week had some friends trapped due to a hazardous chemical spill in their neighborhood. i could go on, listing the explosions, large traffic accidents, ice storms with power outages and then of course the flu, but why bother? You can hear all that news on KRVN.
The reason I am writing is because I think you are WASTING the time you spend listening to KRVN. Don't get me wrong, KRVN is a great source for news, but I think you are wasting your time listening to KRVN News if you ALL YOU DO IS LISTEN!
Amidst the laughter and the bad jokes every morning, are you really HEARING what they are talking about? Each and every day the news here at KRVN is FULL of news about disasters of every kind, but so few of us ever allow the news to inspire us to change, to plan, to consider the possibilities.
Folks, don't waste your time just listening to KRVN, use what you are hearing.
You've tuned in to Nebraska's best source for news and weather. We are just several weeks away from Nebraska's Severe Weather Awareness Week; have you sat down with the family and talked about tornado season? Have you refreshed that home disaster kit?
Don't just listen to KRVN. Act on it.
