With all the coverage of today's incident at Wells Fargo in Kearney, there is little I could add to any report of the news story, but as I watched the television news coverage, one thing came to mind.
A young man was interviewed this afternoon that said something I think is worth repeating...
Stuff like this does not happen in Kearney, he said, but our law enforcement around here trains like it does and they were excellent today.
I personally had family near the bank at the time of the incident but I was out of town. Listening intently to the coverage as the story unfolded, it became very clear to me that our local law enforcement proved to be up to the task. After viewing the footage, watching the coverage and speaking to a few folks from the news media, I am more than impressed.
To all of you that responded to the call today: Thank you. Be proud. The nation watched you excel today.
