Wiegand Family & Friends

The following members of the armed forces were submitted by
Carolyn Wiegand of Beatrice. They include family and friends.
First my brother Marvin Wiegand, Army, served from 1960-1962
and then 2 years in the reserved. He was stationed in Berlin durin
the cold war. Marvin is from Beatrice.
Hubert "Mac" McAllister, Army, served during the Korean War in
Alaska. Mac is deceased for 10 years and was born in Kansa
and transplanted to Beatrice.
Uncles Alvin Wiegand and Willam Kaufman. Both served duing
WWI. Alvin was in the alloon Corps. Bill was in the Army also.
Cousin Alan Wiegand, Nebraska transplant to Missouri, served
in Vietnam.
Friends, Stephen Metcalf, Ryan Metcalf, Jarod Kerr, Casey Grella
and Scott Bates. Stephen was in Vietnam. Ryan his son served
in Iraq. Both Army. Jarod Kerr was in the Army in Iraq. Casey
Grella is a cousin to Jarod and stepdaughter to Scott Bates;
she has served in Irag. Scott Bates is full time Nebraska National
Guard and has served in Bosnia, Irag and Afanganistan.
Lastly, to Jacob Fritz of Verdon, Nebraska. Jacob was a cousin
to my great-nieces husband, Jed. Jacob was killed in Iraq a little
over a year ago. As in every small town, Verdon and the Falls City
area turned out for the funeral in full to pay respects to him. He is
greatly missed in that area of the state.
Thank you to all who haved served in the armed forces, men and
women, in whatever capacity. Blessings to all of them and to their
families. Special blessings to those who did not return and to those
families who lost loved ones.
