"Spike Out Cancer" the theme

Last Thursday night, October 14th in Dodge, it was "Spike Out Cancer" night as the Lady Pirates hosted the Humphrey Bulldogs in high school volleyball. The two schools consolidated efforts by raising money buying and selling t-shirts, wristbands and soliciting donations.
Not only did the the girls raise a lot of money for the American Cancer Society, but Dodge even wore pink uniform tops during the contest, and all the girls from both teams sported some pink item showing their support for the fight against cancer.
Fans packed the gym as well dressed in whatever pink item they could find. It was just a fantastic effort between the two towns, and one night this sports broadcaster won't soon forget.
