Keep praying for Haiti

Finally caught up with my friends who are actively involved in a Haiti ministry. That's what I like about facebook.  You can find people you don't normally see everyday. Glad to hear they were safe in Minnesota when the quake hit.

They are involved in World Wide Village, Inc. which is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in 2001 by a group of people who share a mutual desire to meet the basic needs of the less fortunate. This is accomplished by focusing on the children and families in poverty-stricken nations. Their focus was Haiti even before the earthquake. You can link to their site here.(More..)

I was awestruck by some of the posts on their facebook page.  For instance they received word of a young girl who had her leg amputated without anesthesia because they needed to work quick to save her life.  Or, about the Georgia coporate businessman who loaned his private jet to WWV doctors so they could fly to Haiti.

It's stories like these that make you pause, pray for all of them there, and be thankful for what you have.   For a list of Haiti relief organizations, please put in keyword "Haiti" at the top of the page.
