Hi folks. Thanks for checking here last week. I had a small vacation so it's been a while since we've had a new post to our blog. But we sure have a beauty for you this week!
Thanks for our buddy Jeff Ludeke who sent us these pics of John Howsden's "A". John is from Huntley, Nebraska just North of Alma. His grandpay Roy Howsden bought this tractor new from Shaffer Brothers in Alma on June 6, 1951. John still has the original owners manuals signed by Roy, shipping tags and other paperwork as well! John's dad Lee also used this tractor.
The Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture at Curtis completely rebuilt it back in 1982 at John's request. It was used a little and had seen some sun since then so John repainted it once again this spring. (I saw it in person and it looks great)
The harvest pic comes from last fall when John used it to pick his popcorn last fall using his New Idea picker. John has also run this set-up at the Loomis picking bee. Thanks for the tractor guys!
Click on the photos for a closer look. Please send us your tractor to the addresses above!
