On Wednesday, December 16, the Scottsbluff FFA chapter sent 24 members to the FFA District Leadership Skills Event contest in Chadron. After weeks of practice, it finally paid off for many of the chapter's competitors. Scottsbluff members competed in Natural resource speaking, senior and junior public speaking, creed speaking, senior and junior parliamentary procedure, job interview and ag demonstration contests.
Individual Results:
The Scottsbluff Junior Parliamentary procedure team consisted of Hayley Clark, Jessica Wolf, Ashley Pike, Alexa Fulk, Kayla Beegle, Tevyn Baldwin, and Katie Meyers. The team brought home second purple ribbon in this event and will be competing at state in April.
Skye Martin won a first purple in the Job Interview contest and will also be heading to state.
Morgan Yost won a second purple in the Natural Resources speaking and is a state qualifier. Maggie Hopp received a red ribbon.
The Scottsbluff Ag. Demonstration team consisting of Sheila Cloud and Danni Becker brought home a blue ribbon on their demonstration on horticulture.
The Scottsbluff Senior Parliamentary team consisting of Kenny Willman, Charity Burkey, Destiny Belford, Kyra Baldwin, Shelby Winchell, Sara Aschenbrenner, and Alex Groskopf (alt.) received a blue ribbon.
Jessica Woolsey and Mellisa Arrellano both competed in Senior Public speaking, and received red ribbons.
Kayla Beegle was the only Junior Public speaker competing this year. She received a red ribbon.
Katie Meyers and Alexus Aragon competed in the creed speaking contest and received red ribbons.
